Let me have a heart to heart with the women who follow this blog (sorry guys). Do you have times when you just don’t feel worthy? Like, you know God loved the world and sent His Son to die for its sins and all that, but some days you don’t really believe that it applies to you. Why would Jesus want to die for someone like you?
Oh, my sweet friend, I get it. I really do. There are days when we just drag ourselves through because we have no choice. If I had a magic remote, there are days when I would hit the fast-forward button. I would rush to the next scene where hopefully, I’d be feeling all mushy and confident in my identity as a Jesus-girl.
Now, you know me, Google is one of my favorite inventions, so one of the things I do when I’m a little shaky on my identity in Christ is to look for verses that speak specifically about that topic. But, what do you do when you need more than a few verses?
Read Ephesians.
Oh dear, I’ve lost you haven’t I? Don’t write me off just yet. Ephesians is one of those books that we don’t reach for so easily because Paul can be a little, well, Paul-esque.
That’s why this next thing is going to be so exciting. Sarah Koontz released a study on the book of Ephesians on October 16, 2017. She calls it: Worthy of the Calling. Let me tell you, it is an awesome study. I had the opportunity to review the pre-release of this study as part of her launch team and let me tell you, Ephesians is now one of my go-to books.
I had never before realized how much this book applied to my life. Sure, I know about the armor of God (I mean who hasn’t read Ephesians chapter 6) but Sarah was fantastic at pulling out the little details and making it personal.
My favorite imagery is on day two of the study. Sarah puts Paul in a suit as the executor of God’s will. Needless to say, this study shows us through the Holy Spirit inspired words that you and I are worthy of the calling … whether we choose to believe it or not.
The study is in five days on 2 days off format and requires a time commitment of about 15 minutes.
My recommendations on how to enjoy the study:
- Find your quiet place, pray and invite the Holy Spirit into your study time.
- Read the day’s verses and then Sarah’s study.
- Keep a notebook and pen handy – there are going to be some truths that you want to record so be prepared.
Another cool thing about the study is all the graphics and freebies that come with it. Sarah put a lot of effort and thought into making this study detailed and appealing. Even better, she allowed herself to be led by God and spoke truth into our souls.
Won’t you join us as we study the book of Ephesians? (And yes, I am definitely going through the study again). Click the graphic below to register for the free study.
I received an advance copy of this study from the author; a positive review was not required.
