What Are You Thankful For
This series, first published in November 2018 explored the idea of thankfulness. Eight bloggers shared what they were thankful for. These posts are here to encourage our hearts as we continue to walk with God.
What Gratitude Is
When you’re trying to live a Hebrews 12 endurance life, gratitude is one of its key features. It’s much easier to appreciate what you have when you learn to focus on each thing God has given you stewardship of. The very act of remembering that we are stewards helps us to be grateful because nothing we have truly belongs to us–they are all gifts from our Heavenly Father.
Thankfulness has always been a key element of worship. The online Oxford Dictionary defines gratitude as the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
What It Means to Be Thankful
Gratitude is appreciating what we have been given. It means learning to accept the blessings you have received from God. This can be a difficult thing for most persons even if they have been Christians for many years. But sometimes thankfulness means accepting our limitations, trying to find strength in spite of what’s happening in your life.
