I wish faith came through the moments spend reading and studying God’s word. You know, those quiet moments where you sit at the feet of God basking in his presence… But it doesn’t.
Faith comes in those hard to bear moments when God seems to have turned his back on you.
Faith is formed in those moments that you spend weeping, crying out to God and asking him why he has forsaken you when he promised never to leave you.
Faith is formed in affliction.
Like precious jewels we are refined through fire.
My friend, I know how hard it is to go through these times when it feels God had done the unthinkable and broken his promise. But even though it may seem as though he is not be in the fire with us, we must remember that we are always in his hands.
He’s the Potter. The One who creates vessels to give honor and glory to his name.
He is the Refiner. The One who ensures that the trash that surrounds us is melted away.
Don’t give up on God when it seems as though the heat is getting hotter with no end in sight. As the songwriter says: when you can’t see his hand trust his heart.
